Experience:
Springboard Business Plans is Diane Tarshis. Diane has been writing business plans for more than 10 years. She brings 20+ years of business experience to her role as Principal of Springboard Business Plansexperience that includes investment banking, operations management, manufacturing and retailing.
Diane was operations manager and then treasury manager for international manufacturing firm Silvestri Corp. Prior positions also include operations manager for Midwest department store retail chain Carson Pirie Scott, and financial analyst for the health care finance group of Salomon Brothers, a New York investment bank.
Early in her career, Diane was a consultant at the Wharton Small Business Development Center (SBDC), a joint venture between the Small Business Administration and the Wharton School, where she worked extensively with entrepreneurs on writing their business plans as well as managing their marketing, financing, operational and management issues.
Diane holds a degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and she is a published author, having co-written Mothers-In-Law Do Everything Wrong: M.I.L.D.E.W. (Andrews McMeel), a humorous look at one of life's oldest marital challenges. She is a member of the University of Pennsylvania's Secondary School Committee, and currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Francis W. Parker School.

Diane has written business plans for companies in a wide variety of industries, including:
- A biofuels producer focusing on ethanol and biodiesel derived from energy-positive renewable resources.
- A microbial cellulose manufacturer using their patented production methods for large-scale commercial applications, including an FDA-approved medical device.
- A direct importer that designs and develops specialty Christmas and home decor products manufactured in India, selling to U.S.-based mass merchants.
- An upscale restaurant with retail gourmet shop, including brand development for ancillary ventures.
- A hedge fund portfolio (fund of funds) using their proprietary technology to uniquely exploit the strengths and counteract the weaknesses of the underlying hedge funds.
- A Web-based start-up in the mobility and assistive product industry
targeting the elderly and disabled.
